4 Ways to Reduce Stress
Last Updated December 8, 2021
According to the American Medical Association, stress is the basic cause of more than 60% of all human illness and disease. Here are four things you can do to help manage your stress level and reduce the negative health effects it can cause.
- Eat right
Maintaining a healthy, well-balanced diet will give your body the energy it needs to combat stress. - Sleep
Lack of sleep makes a stressful situation worse. Make sure you get plenty of quality shut-eye every night. - Connect with friends
Friends and family are a vital support system, especially during stressful times. Reach out to them for advice, perspective or a sympathetic ear. - Volunteer
Stay active and take your mind off your own problems by helping others. Volunteer in your community, lend a hand at your child’s school, or help a neighbor.
